Currently with first direct, who are great, but don't have an online mortgage facility.
About to re-mortgage due to buying a new property and was wondering who offered the service and what one was the best.
Cheers
Not sure what you are trying to achieve.
I can see my FD mortgage account online. I can see the balance. I can see statements. I can make payments. What else is it you want?0 -

Ah one of the lovely quirks of FirstDirect: bet you've got an offset mortgage. You can manage those online, but for the standard mortgages you can't.0 -

Not the end of the works of course, but it does seem that mortgages are lagging behind when it comes to online facilities - and it would be interesting to know which lenders are leading the way in that respect.
Making online payments to a mortgage account has been an available feature for the majority of mortgage accounts for many years. Other than watching the balance reduce what services are you expecting? I suspect the novelty will wear off pretty soon for most people. Once they realise how long they have to go to settle the balance.0 -
We are with nationwide. You can see your balance, regular DDs, overpayment and the daily accumulated interest. However like kingstreet mentioned, we didn't go with them because of this feature.SPC 08 - #452 - £415
SPC 09 - #452 - £2980 -

If you read my post you will see that managing payments/ overpayments is NOT something that is currently available with my mortgage. So this would be handy for me.
Also, having made several overpayments recently, the term left on my mortgage will have been reduced - but I have no idea by how much. So, displaying this info would be another useful feature.
I am not concerned enough about any of these issues to stop me from going with lender that offers the cheapest deal but the OP is asking a valid question in my eyes. If you don't think so then fine, just move on to the next thread!0 -

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Basically I'm trying to find a mortgage provider who would, as one poster said, let you see your new balance after making an overpayment and finding out how much your mortgage term has been shortened as a result of that overpayment.
Apprecaiting all the input.:beer:0 -
Sign up to Noddle.
My mortgage provider doesn't have any online facilities but I can see my monthly balance through Noddle.
It does make the lack of online facilities seem a bit silly as they are obviously generating the data and sending it out to 3 credit agencies but not letting the customer see it directly. After years of disappointment with get-rich-quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme...and quick! - Homer Simpson0 -
YBS are pretty good For online facilities.0

I'm with Woolwich and can only see the balance online but can't make additional payments or choose a new product when my current one expires. I wouldn't say managing online would be high on my priority list - I'll stick with the best %.0
