    Cheers,

It will cost you 3% of the amount withdrawn, and you have to enrol in the cash access service before you can withdraw from an ATM, subject to AMEX allowing you this service.

^^ this is correct, I had to go through this in order to use my card to buy foreign currency! I was told there is a monthly limit to how much you can withdraw per month and from memory the limits were slightly different depending on if you were using the card in the UK or abroad. I seem to remember it was around £3000/month.
  • For the love of god, don't start using credit/charge cards to get cash. You'll pay extortionate fees, a mark on your credit report showing cash advances (which goes against you), and it's usually a dwindling road to debt.

If you're wanting it to take cash out abroad, get a Halifax Clarity card.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.
