Help please MSE folk. I lost my lovely Mum a little while back and am finally close to sorting out all the financial fallout. One outstanding task is a small bequest (£1000) to be paid to an old family friend who now lives in the USA. I'm looking for advice on the cheapest way to send this securely....
It's just possible the FF still has a UK bank account, which would obviously simplify things. Even if this is the case I would want to transfer sufficient extra to ensure he gets the full 1K after making his own transfer from his UK to US account...
(Essentially, either way I want to absorb the transfer costs from the estate BUT minimise that cost...)
TIA

We used TorFx to give DS money towards his house deposit.
Their rate operates on a sliding scale, but it's worth giving them a ring. We found them very helpful.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
