Halifax / Lloyds 08000 327329

Has anyone received frequent calls from 08000 327329.

I believe it is Lloyds/Halifax inviting you to make an appointment for a review.

I could swear I asked for no marketing by all methods a while back.

It might be a service call. Which isn't marketing.

    Hi miller,

This is a genuine number we use & you'd normally be given it when calling 1471 after a call from us. Generally, these calls aren't urgent and someone should call you back. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to find out what the call was relating to, sorry.

If you'd like to check or update/amend your marketing preferences, our PhoneBank team can help you do this on 0345 3000 000 / 01733 347 007.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Hi Gary

Thanks for taking the time to comment on this thread, I appreciate the reply.

My view is until we have a robust system in place where the customer can verify it is their bank who is calling only essential calls should be made (e.g. fraud/purchase verifcation/online payment setups etc).

With Vishing still occurring far too frequently and banks/customers/shareholders losing money, potentially unecessary calls like this add to that confusion IMO (I say potentially as we don't know exactly what it's about, but odds on it's superfluous).

I also note, there is no option to turn off marketing calls online, just emails and texts IIRC.

As I say, thanks for replying, I don't expect you to take a position on my views above, but maybe if you could pass the sentiment up the chain...

People still ignore calls when it is fraud monitoring, thinking it is a scam or then complain if it is genuine and they are unable to make a purchase.

If the call is made immediately at the point where the customer is attempting to buy something or add a payee though, they might expect to receive it possibly. Not several hours after though (as has been the case).

The current state of affairs is not working where genuine calls are treated suspiciously and suspicious ones pass muster with some customers. A solution is needed, in the meantime cutting down on the volume of unimportant calls would help.

They are only unimportant to you. Some of us out here appreciate being told of offers or ways I could do things differently.

    miller,

The feedback is much appreciated & I'll certainly ensure it's recorded. In the meantime, as Gary mentioned, you can amend your telephone marketing preferences on the number provided.

    Thanks,
