I received test results back from an MOT service, which was failed. The garage is currently putting together a quote for repairs before begin MOT'd again.
I the meantime, I wanted to get a quick estimate on the cost of repairs. Could anybody cost each item so to give me a ball park figure?
Thanks in advance!
Reasons for refusal of a test certificate:
Nearside rear body or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the body mountings [6.1.B.2]
Nearside rear brake binding [3.7.B.1]
Nearisde front anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover excessively damaged so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt [2.4.G.2]
Offside front Brake pipe inadequately supported [3.6.B.1]
Offside front Front constant velocity joint gaiter damage to the extent that it not longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc. [2.5.C.1a]
Advisory Items:
Front shock absorbers worn
Under body corroded

Body or chassis has excess corrosion. But which is it nody or chassis?
Welding £20 - ££££££ thousands...
antiroll bar linkage under £20 for the part.
CV joint £20 - £60 for the part Both of these can be done in under 2 hours.
Brake pipe loose, clip it back 30 seconds.
under boddy corroded.. There could be many many hours worth of welding to sort that. if the quote is cheap then start looking for a new car before next year.
If its high start looking for a new car now.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Get a quote for the welding. They are surprisingly strong shells with good plodding engines that were replaced more for fashion/new plate. than imminent oxidation. Loads of owners actually have patches put on even outer sills because there isn't a structural reason for replacing the whole thing. The rest are cheap/minor fails and an excellent example of bangeromics.0

A CV gaitor should be all you need. A few quid.0
