Tesco charging 5p to use credit card?

Hi, What's going on? Tesco have just charged me 5p to use my Saga credit card!

    Is it definitely for using a CC? Wasn't there some measure proposed that supermarkets were going to have to charge 5p per carrier bag at some point. I used CC in Tesco yesterday and wasn't charged extra.

    I don't always check the receipts but i don't think i've ever been charged.

    If you're in Scotland, it maybe for a carrier bag.

    If you're in Wales you also get charged 5p for a carrier bag. As others have said it is possibly this.


    Edit: Sorry, my post crossed with peaceful waters who has also pointed out Wales are charged for carrier bags.

    Hello,

    Looking more closely at the receipt and working through to the balance, it now appears that I was given 5p not charged 5p in the line on the receipt:
    Visa Credit Sale £0.05

    Strange but acceptable.
