VCS ltd parking charge

Just received a letter from VCS saying I was parked at JL Airport, January 2014 and I have not paid anything 1st I heard was yesterday March 23rd 2015 lol. now its been passed to an agency with an extra £30 for the trouble so £130. I have had no proof as in photos times etc, I was in the air my wife picked me up,
are these legal and could I go to court if I don't pay?.
the best thing is I sold the car Feb 2014.
