Cancel ANY insurance @ ANY time with ZERO fee's to pay

Barclays treating it as a complaint does not change the fact that it's a legal notification. Though told that I would, no administration fee or 'early cancellation' fee's to pay. This isn't a one-off either, and not solely confined to just traditional companies. Similar methods work with The regional council and constabularies for it to be considered a 'fluke' such as Nearlyold is attempting to imply0

Seriously, if you take a case to FOS about a cancellation fee, it can dismiss it as a legitimate exercise of commercial judgment and will do so unless it considers it excessive (this usually means £50 plus the cost of insurance to date).
If the OP ever took an insurer to court they would find out if they were right or (as most seem to think) not.
However, the fact that an insurer simply pays a whinger to go away may not be a good move. They keep records of complaints (they are required to by the FCA) and may use this information to refuse to accept the complainant back.
Insurers also share information.
So this approach may well restrict the available pool of insurers for the OP.0 -
Your post is certainly viable. It is something to be aware of absolutely but to date, there are so many insurance companies out there, that the likelihood of cancelling even a portion of them before renewal is pretty slim. Most insurance does serve its purpose. I have had the same dental insurance for almost 3 years. No complaints. This is mainly for those instances where people are unhappy and feel trapped within an insurance company, to let them know there is a way out, with no fee's and protection on you credit file.
In regards to sheriff officers. These only exist in Scotland, have certain influences with the courts, and are normally hired by companies to collect alleged debt. They are the English equivalent to court appointed bailiffs so it's not a term many in England hear of0 -

What do you mean by 'legal notification'?0 -
In this situation; where the recipient has been made aware of a legalprocess, notifying them in writing to end our business and the duty of inquiry surrounding the questions being raised. since they are in relation to the Consumer Credit Act of which they are using (From guidelines that OFT set) they are expected to respond.
I, like any other who have set up an agreement with any insurer are seen as 'the debtor', which is defined as a company or individual who owes money. Debtor also contains the word 'debt' although no physical money has ever been borrowed for it to be owed. This is also hinted at in the letter. These notifications do sometimes wind up in the legal departments. Been occasions where I've called up to get an update, and I've been forwarded through to legal to clarify a few points for it to go from legal to management.
I was in contact with EE's Amy Davidson from the Executive office, and Fran Clemes, chief customer services exec, after something similar was in their legal department. I was given 'time-limit' offers, whereby taking a sum of money to drop a pursuit. For it not to work, I've got a lot of evidence which says otherwise. We are all being taken for a mug, and exploited through misuse of law0
