My DS is in 3rd year of uni and our financial situation has changed in that I separated from his dad before Christmas. is there any point in applying to student finace for extra help for the 2 terms left?

Yes it will be a huge difference. The form states I need evidence of separation. Not sure what this would be.0

I was told council tax bill showing just your name was the best thing.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
That's good news. I thought I might have needed a solicitor. Was your situation similar? Did you get any money from them?0

I'm just in the process of trying to sort it now, (it's taken me 2 months to get an amended Council tax bill from my local council) but I was told I just needed to write a letter, nothing was mentioned about a form....... :huh:Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
I have 3 quite lengthy forms to fill in. One is to show earnings in 2012-13, one shows financial situation 2014-15, so they can see how it has changed. There is a 3rd form for my son to fill in. I have spoken to them at student finances and this is what I was told to do.
It actually says I need a solicitor's letter to show evidence of separation. As we have not taken any legal action yet I am not sure what a solicitor would do and how much they would charge.0
