TV and Freeview Conflict?

I am at a bit of a loss on with a problem on my tv ...
When I try to watch Freeview through the AV1 channel, I can hear the audio from Channel 4 (albeit very quietly, but I have overly sensitive hearing!). I assumed it was something to do with the frequencies being too close together, so deleted Channel 4 from my 'normal' tv channels, and when that didn't work, put the Freeview on a different frequency. That didn't work either!
I have managed to tune Freeview through a spare channel on the tv, and this eliminates the problem. However, the pic isn't too hot, so would rather go back to the AV channel if possible.
Any advice would be very welcome. Thank you! x

How good is your scart lead? I've found using a decent one eliminates a lot of interference problems."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Ive heard if you go to "Normal" tv first and put it on to a channel with no TV station tuned "so its just fuzz showing" then go to your AV this can eliminate the problem0

Thanks guys,
Two good ideas.
The second one didn't work, but always worth a try.
superscaper, I think you've hit it on the head about the scart. The tv is actually my parents old one (I say old, it is a three year old Sony!), and they never had a problem with it. However, they also have uber expensive scarts (that cost more than my old tv in itself!), whereas I have a very old and well manipulated one.
Will have a visit to the parents tomorrow and see if I can nick one!
Thanks again guys! xGone ... or have I?0
