claim back VAT on extension

Can anyone tell me what I can claim VAT back on, when building an extension?

I found this:

http://www.homebuilding.co.uk/advice/existing-homes/renovating/vat

But I do not know how up-to-date it is.

thanks

In what way do you think the extension qualifies for VAT relief?

A simple extension to an existing dwelling does not.

you can claim back when building a new house or converting somewhere to a new dwelling

    https://www.gov.uk/vat-building-new-home/overview

Extensions are not included though so Unless your extension is a separate attached dwelling you won't get it back.

The advice in the link is still valid, so you need to ask yourself if your project qualifies (ie, the property you are extending has been empty for at least 10 years or was previously not a residential property like a barn or outbuilding).
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.
