How long do SDP decisions take?

Not too sure if I'm being a tad too impatient or should wait a bit longer.:o

Phoned up and informed ESA of change of address / asked for form for SDP on Feb 16th which I received a few days later and sent off on the 20th.

Next ESA payment is due on Thursday.

Does the decision usually take this long?

    mine took 2 weeks.
it depends how busy they are
  • would agree 2 weeks is probably about right as it should be straight forward,it should also be backdated to application date

Thanks. Spoke to DWP who claim they haven't received my form / it's been lost. When I requested the form, I was sent two by mistake. I've filled the other one in and was told to call back on April 14th.

Oh for Christ Sake! They've either lost the form I sent them two weeks ago or not received it again.

  • I sent two IS10 forms in a few months ago after being awarded pip.... Both of my forms went missing. I then rang up just over three weeks ago, to ask about my application, and they got someone to ring me to complete an IS10 form over the phone. The lady rang me back the same day to tell me that i did qualify for sdp and she said i would get a confirmation letter and back payment to the date of my pip award. I've had one esa benefit payment since the phone call and the sdp (61.10) was added... However I still haven't received the confirmation letter or the back payment. 😑. It has been three weeks so far....

Does anyone on here know how long does it usually takes for the backpayment to be paid?? I don't like having to keep ringing the DWP 😕 as I feel like a nuisance.

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help, my wife and I have a joint claim for ESA, she is the main person on claim, in the support group, I have been awarded PIP for 3 years, am i entitled to the SDP premium? she isn't and can't be carer, we live together, no other adults in house etc? Thanks

I've now, on the advice on the lady I spoke to last week, got the form scanned over instead of it being sent over via post.
