Pay rent to letting agent?

Hi

I've been renting through private landlords all this time but I'm about to switch to a letting agent. Typically, when a letting agent manages the rental property on behalf of the LL, who should I pay the rent to - directly to the LL or the letting agent?

    Whatever the tenancy agreement says:

    And if you start out paying agent (typically what happens) & later landlord wants you to pay him direct (he's entitled) ask for that in writing & proof he is who he says he is & proof he owns the place...
