Are there Even Any Decent FENCE PAINT in UK?

seriously whats wrong with the UK market here, its such a hassle to get any decent paint here in uk for anything :(

was wondering do you guys even have Normal Green paint for wood which could be used to paint fence? All you got here is some green wood treatment which is just :rotfl:
painted last year with that cr.ap fence and this year its all gone and washed out  Need to repaint it again....

Any suggestions?
and No i just didnt get a bad batch, i have tried like 3brands and all of them are just plain water with some paint pigment which take 4-5 coats to get normal color.

Blame the eco-loons and the EU. Back in the day you could use creosote and the fence would be fine for decades.

im afraid its not whole EU but just UK ,back in my country and in france you can get normal paint which isnt sold maybe for specially painting fences but just general wood, its cheap as chips ,the consumption is literary 10x less for it , you only need 1 or 2 coats on a bare wood and it will stay like that for good 5-10years after painted!

You could always go home and bring back some EU wonderpaint.

If it's as good as you say it is, you could make a fortune.

actually good idea, seems like people dont even bother painting their fences here probably because they are just lazy to repaint it every year and spend so much time doing it.

I tried to find the paint that they use on the houses in Sweden and can't get it anywhere. They only paint every 20+ years and it always looks new.
Definitely a market for decent outdoor paint here.

Architectural Solignum, spirit based one, don't buy the waterbased one... They do lots of colours but make sure it put it on early/late Summer when the fence/shed is dry........

    http://www.decoratingdirect.co.uk/viewprod/t/TORSOLASB/

Cactus green is fence /shed like but they have lots of colours.

We use to do a lot of work for the Church of England, National Trust etc and it was often specified to be used. Good stuff but not cheap and a little goes a long way.

The main thing to remember with fences/sheds is to steer clear of waterbased products because they don't penetrate the surface of the timber and the timber will have a high moisture content compared to windows/doors etc, its spirit based so it penetrates into the timber but you must apply it when the timber is at its driest so apply it in the Summer.

When people pop down to Wickes/B&Q etc and spend money on the coloured water they sell as "fence/shed preservatives" and then the following year they do the same thing again ,they are wasting their time. Spend the money on a decent product and it won't need doing again for 4-5 years if its applied properly.

    that sure is a rip-off £21.56 for a litre of paint :D:D
Seriously You can just hop on a ferry and for a 4euros/litre buy specially-mixed paint on order for whatever you need!

I do a lot of fixing up /diy stuff and Im seriously frustrated almost everytime I go to shops here to get something, either they simply don't have it,have never heard of such stuff or it's 5X more expensive than in france/germany.
here if you need some special tone mixed I think it was like 30quid just for mixing at B&Q?
For fuk sake even such basic stuff as decent wallpaper is like 15pounds a roll MINIMUM here when they probably import it from some Poland where they get it for like 1pound, Its not even funny :(

It's still possible to obtain real creosote in this country, if you know where to go. As a 'farmer,' I can still buy it in 20litre drums.
