they offer a free 30 day trial.. Just cancel before your 30 days are up..
I hadn't realised they were doing the score as part of the free trial these days...they didn't when I had the free trial a few years ago.

You can get a 1 month free trial, just make sure you cancel it.

Check call credit for free at their Noddle website

You can also get the £2 report on request without needing to subscribe (e.g. if you have used your free trial)

Getting the £2 report is what I am planning to do.. I think I might request a report once a year, just to make sure everything is in order..

This is exactly what I do; just order the £2 statutory reports from Experian and Equifax every now and again, and use Noddle for CallCredit. I always intend to do it every year, but I usually forget and end up leaving it 2 or 3 years :-)

It was many years ago now, but I think I had access to my "score" as part of my Experian free trial - but my mind may be playing tricks on me. I have a feeling I've seen it, and there is no way I would ever have paid for it, so my theory is that it must have been when I was on the trial.

Yes, I know all that.. but, the MSE form must be using some sort of "formula/algorithm" to get to that 30% figure.. and, this is not Santander that's doing it, it's MSE (or moneysupermarket more likely)..I am asking how this 30% figure is worked out, to see if it's using something I can improve..

I know all credit card companies use different criteria to see if the'll lend.. But the soft search forms but apply similar rules to help give the % indications..

    Some details are here:
HD has extremely close links now with almost all of the UK’s retail banking players. Almost all of the credit card and unsecured loan providers have signed up to the “Apply With Confidence” platform that sits behind the price comparison sites. In return these lenders get very high quality applications as well as unique insight into that market place.

So, I guess the result is based on the type of customer the card provider is looking for. But they keep some of their lending criteria secret and don't share it.

I'm not sure what the difference is between a credit report quotation check and a full check. Presumably a quotation check returns less detailed information, but I haven't been able to find anywhere that lists what it is.
