cleaning down the middle of double panel radiators ?

I've just realised with horror the filth accumulating in between the two panels of our radiators (building work, pets, general laziness) & tried to get in there to give it a good vacuum.
even the narrowest crevice tool that I have is too wide to get past the grille at the top of the radiator - how do you clean your radiators please ?

You can't really vacuum easily I have found. I have what looks like a long-handled bottle brush which I can poke down through the top. Had it for years so not sure now where I bought it. Here are similar http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_6_9/279-7328525-0152763?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=radiator+brush&sprefix=Radiator+%2Caps%2C251
I did mine a few weeks ago and it's amazing how much dust accumulates!0 -

My rads don't have the grill on top, but I found a bottle brush was pretty ineffective when I spilt milk in a radiator once. The room smelt of sour milk every time the heating came on for about two years.0

You need to stick the brush up the bottom of the radiator if it has a grill on top.
I use a Flash Dustmaster wand & pad.
Can you find one of these:

I hated seeing all the dust down my radiator too. I discovered by accident, when steam cleaning in the bathroom using my little yellow hand held steamer (the one with a pointy nozzle). I pointed the steam down from the top of the radiator and the force of the jet of steam blasts all the dust/fluff/hair/need I go on eeewww straight out of the bottom of the radiator.
Voila nice n clean and quick.
Happy days

my radiators are the same as yours OP and you can take them apart to vacuum inside. Mine don't get done very often though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
