Repaired Concrete house concern...

Hi all,
I'm a ftb and just had a survey done on the house I'm looking at buying. Its showing that the house 'which is an end terrace' was previously a concrete built that has been 'repaired' and bricked.
The survey points out the main problem is the houses in the rest of the terrace are still concrete pre-fab and to purchase with extreme caution relating to this.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Are they suggesting the house may be damaged because of houses attached to it? Worried it will affect the mortgage offer now too!
Thanks,
Kev

Have you checked if the conversion from pre-fab to traditional was done property and if they have a PRC repair certificate? If so you should be able to get a mortgage.
The fact that the other houses haven't been done shouldn't really be an issue as far as I am aware?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Yes they have the PRC certificate. In the homebuyers report however, it mentions that many mortagage companies wont lend against a repaired house thats still attached to a concrete one. And also states re-sale of the property due to this would be adversely effected and to proceed with extreme caution.
Seem such a shame but I don't want to end up with an un-saleable property...0 -
I am sat looking at an ex LA pre fabricated house that has not been modernised that is attached to another ex LA prefabricated that has been brick skimmed to modernise it, sold, and now sports a huge extension on the side. I take it that at some stage a mortgage etc has been applied for and approved unless it was paid for in cash. Sorry not much help but there are quite a few that are attached to un modernised and have been sold recently.
I expect the problem lies with the rusting of the metalwork frame that could spread to the adjoining property.0
