Selling our house and moving to renting for a while

The letting agent we will be renting from said that we can get our solictor to make a BACS payment to them on the day of completion of the sale of our house. Our solicitor says this is not possible due to the rules.

Anyone help with this? Can this be done?

We want the solicitor to send some of the funds from our house sale on completion day to a letting agent we will be renting through
