The meter guys only hold ccn1 and met1 which is core Gas safety and meters. They do have a responsibility to visually check all gas appliances after recomissioning the gas supply but they are not allowed to work on them.

The ONLY people who have a legal power of entry to inspect and disconnect gas appliances and fittings are authorised officers of a public gas transporter..that is to say, an Engineer working for the likes of National Grid or whoever is the network operator in your area.

No other gas safe Engineer in this land has that legal right and so if they advise you that an appliance is unsafe you can thank them kindly for their advice, take whatever paperwork they offer and let them go on their way.

However having been advised that an appliance may be actually or potentially unsafe to use, if you continue to use that appliance or fitting, you may be guilty of an offence under the Gas Safety Installation and Use regulations.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
