Skirting Boards

Im looking for 9 inch skirting boards for my Victorian house. All the places I have been to are looking for around £5.50/M for the standard Taurus/Ogee and more for something more exotic.

Any advice from more learned people on this board?

Make your own out of 6x1 and then a standard ogee/taurus architrave sitting on top.

    Simples!

were you looking at wood or MDF? Our Victorian house has 7 inch boards and we've just had MDF taurus fitted (sorry, no idea of cost though, it was not itemised to that level)

Hi OP, I was having similar issues trying to find high torus skirting cheap.

I found that I had to use a local timber merchant that also serves the public to get a decent price. In the end I also went for primed mdf as it was cheaper.

The only issue I find with using merchants is that they arnt open on weekends, and if they are its usually sat mornings only! However the one I went to, cut it to the length you needed and cut it to fit in my car. So you don't pay for more than you need!

    Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late reply. I got it from this place

I rang them up and drove a hard bargain.
