STILL waiting to buy our house with no clear date in sight.
My partner's flat sold within 5 days in Spring 2014. We found a house, offered, accepted then the flat buyer was made redundant and pulled out. We lost the house because the vendors couldn't wait.
Flat went back on the market in the summer school holidays and there was an agonising wait as nothing was happening, hardly any viewings, no offers. It finally sold in October and we offered on another house. That all went through and there was talk of late December/ early January to exchange, complete and move.
The house we're buying is grade II listed, there were complications with the leasehold and we were waiting for retrospective planning permission on a Velux window, so it all took longer than expected.
Come mid January, my partner's flat-buyers pulled out because they said they couldn't wait any longer, so we were back to selling it again, which thankfully happened quickly.
Now, we seem to be in limbo. Still not heard back about the flat buyers' mortgage application, which was submitted a month ago. They're pushing for a service record on the boiler, which my partner does not have, despite them planning on replacing it anyway. We've heard nothing from our vendor since January and I just hope she isn't losing patience as well.
I'm so fed up with waiting. It feels like everything that could go wrong, has. Is there anything else I can do to move things along? I don't even know what the next step will be!
Thanks for reading, any response would be great.

Assuming you have dealt with all the queries relating to the property you're looking to buy, you also need to do the same with the property you're trying to sell. That appears to include boiler service records, regardless of what you understand to be the buyer's intention for the future of the boiler.
If your partner doesn't have historic records, I suggest you get a service done now, with some sort of test / inspection certificate which you can give to your buyer, giving them some peace of mind that the thing's safe, and the box can be ticked in terms of the checklist of info that solicitors ask for.
Similarly, be prepared to quickly deal with any other queries your buyer may have, and work towards a swift resolution of any issues. But while you've clearly suffered frustrating delays in the past, the current delay is purely of your own making.0
