  • Accident claims countrywide is a solicitor. Don't jump to conclusions Polar. They can be found in APIL and MASS as they are registered with both and that's how my sister found them.
  • Oh its Michael Jeffries apologies

what I would suggest you do is instruct a local solicitor who is a member of apil

    Good luck!!

i made a claim after having a road accident a couple of years ago and it was a nightmare, first i went to one of those nowin no fee accident claim companys and they went bust! then i decided to go to a "Proper" solicitor who basically left my file on a pile and eventually was contacted by a senior member of the firm on a sunday afternoon!! who informed me that my solicitor had been retired (basically think he had lost the plot!) to cut a long story short finally found a good solicitor and 19 months later my claim was finally settled!!

  • My husband had an horrific accident! We went to the Law Society who recommended several solicitors in our area. I called them all with a brief outline of the accident and waited to see what they said and asked friends for any solictors they could recommend. I took it from there with their replies and my gut instincts. We personally would never use a "no win, no fee" solicitor for the simple fact they take so much out of the case....some stupid amount of like 40% of the win I think. Please someone correct me if I am wrong on that but this is what we were told when we were searching. This was about 10 years ago now though and things may have changed.

My husband and I found it to be the most traumatic experience ever! It took 3 years to get to court. The Barrister was a complete muppet but he could afford to be earning something like £500 a day out of us and the solicitor, well, less said about him the better!

Keep notes of everything even down to bus and taxi fares, parking fees, any clothes/shoes she has had to buy due to the injury, etc as the solicitor will want these to claim back. In fact, get a diary and write EVERYTHING down so as you don't loose it and make sure you keep all the correspondence together too!

    Good luck :)
My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being, hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.

  • Yes the rules have changed now - essentially these days any reputable solicitor will not charge the client as long as they cooperate and dont mislead etc - there are some claims companies which does charge a percentage steer well clear of them!
