What's an acceptable 'long' entry date? (Scotland)

Putting my property on the market but haven't found a new place to buy yet, property in the area we want to buy is going fast so we want to be in a good position to make an offer if/when an ideal property comes up.

We're hoping we can find a buyer who will agree to a long entry date, but what is an acceptable time period to suggest? Would 3 months be reasonable?

Thanks in advance

Most of the time we have moved an 10-12 week timescale has been the norm. At the end of the day entry dates have to be mutually agreed and if your buyer can't make your timescale they will simply move on.

We are in a similar position, our place is on the market but there is nothing out there for us that really appeals but at least we have somewhere we can go for a few months if we need to.
