Beneficial Interest on Property

Can anyone offer advice how to register the beneficial interest on a property please? Is it just a form with the court? Is there a fee to pay?

Beneficial interest is normally defined by a deed of trust. It is not "registered" as such in the same way as legal ownership is with Land Registry. There would be some legal fees involved with a solicitor to draw up a trust deed.

shoe*diva79 - are you trying to relate this to property ownership and if so in which country?

If you are and it is in England or Wales then our online guidance on joint property ownership may assist although I suspect it is legal advice you will also need

I am the official company representative of Land Registry. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Sorry to hear that: Shelter, the experts in these matters do a very good booklet, 48 pages long (it's complex) on such matters.

    See here..
    england.shelter.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/23393/ShelterGuide_RelationshipBreakdown.pdf
    - the relevant bit is from page 37 onwards, but suggest go through all of it..

& also after reading it, carefully, maybe 'phone Shelter on 0808 800 4444: Expect a wait, this housing charity is very busy!

    Best regards
