replacing a night latch rim cylinder

Are these things universal fit? The original is Union but all I seem to find being sold are Yale, or other makes. If I buy a Yale cylinder will it fit OK?

Yes - but if you find it differs vastly return the new one! On occasion you may need to do some minor woodworking, but again quite unusual.

Most cylinders have a rim; some are screwed.
Union cylinders are widely available online even if they're not in as many shops.

Thanks, ive had a look at those. A little bit more expensive compared to Yale. Also, I see that theres a 1 x 1 type and a more expensive 1 x 10 type. Any idea what the difference is?0
