    i have and can't see where your issue lies.

    post one says she has 28 days paid leave, but in the year april 14 - april 15, she had 51 days paid leave if i included the time i spent away and she didn't work

    post 3 says the same as above, but with more detail..

    post 7 and 8 explains that during my time away, she has no work except to drop me off and pick me up at the station, and why i cannot allow this situation to continue.

    post 12 is a direct answer to miss giggles getting the wrong end of the stick.

    post 13 is a direct answer to cattermole offering to send me a draft contract of employment.

    post 17 shows the resolution to the initial problem.

    all subsequent posts are to you, replying to your allegation that i am only giving my employee 2 weeks paid annual leave.

    please post the part that you think suggested this.

    and don't just take a single sentence out of context ... use a complete post as this is how it would have been written, with its full meaning totally clear.

    no , but i can manage a week at a time ( with the help of friends) and my PA has agreed to overlap her 2 week holiday with one of the weeks i go away.
    if she wants a further break later in the year, it will be unpaid, leaving me the funds to employ another person.

    matbe i am wrong and should pay minimum wage and build up more of a contingency ... but i believe in paying a fair wage, one that she can live on without state help

    I would have thought it reasonable to caculate her remuneration on 52 weeks pay/holiday for your PA but making sure there is enough in the budget to pay for help during her holidays. So really you need to divide the amount received in direct payments by 56 to arrive at the weekly amount you can afford to offer. Or you could reduce her hours but pay the same hourly rate. Just one hour less a day would save the required amount.

    If your PA cannot manage on a reduced income then she needs to find a few hours work elsewhere.

    [hindsight is a wonderful thing!
    until this last few months, i was able to manage without her ( it was only my mobility that was severely impacted by her being away)
    i can manage for up to a week with the help of family and friemnds, and the issue was her taking her full holiday entitlement in addition to the weeks i was away. now we have talked and she realises that her having the time when i am away as additional holiday , isn't viable, everything is fine.
    she knows that extra time will be unpaid, and will also release the funds to employ sommeone else during her absence.
    i don't think it is fair to expect her to take a pay cut on top of asking her to take holidays that I CHOOSE/B]
