overseas internet transaction

I recently purchased an item for less than £100 over the internet from an online pharmacy

the item has arrived but it is a cheaper brand than that which I ordered.

The cost was less than £100

I am not receiving any reply to my emails and there is not phone number....what are my rights re the chances of getting my money back. I paid via my visa card

    None - it's overseas and it's less than £100.

Well you can sue them in whatever country they operate from, if you can locate them.

It also is dependent on the medicine, it is an offence to import any medicine contained within the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and its amendments in schedule 1,2,3,and 4 part (i) as well as being illegal to have it your possession if it was not prescribed by a doctor registered with the UK doctors regulatory authority the GMC, expect for 4 part (i) were the doctor must be registered with the GMC but his or her address does not have to be in the UK, you must also have applied to the Home Office Drugs Branch in advance for a license. It is also an offence to be in possesion of a POM (prescription only medicine), which is controlled under the Medicines Act 1986 unless you hold a valid prescription but that is rarerly enforced unless you give them or sell them to someone else. Be very careful. You could try to get your cash back only to find HM Revenue and Customs after you. James

Yes it's easy for them to do so, but they won't. Only if you tell them that the transaction was fraudulent - ie you never authorised it - which would be fraud on your part.

They are not there to police disputes between you and the merchant. Only if it's in the UK and over £100 will they (reluctantly) get involved.
