A stack of defaults which are incorrect! :(

I've tended to shy away from credit a bit, having got myself into a pickle in the past, however I do use a couple of credit cards now - using throughout the month and paying in full when the statement arrives.
Recently had a look at my credit file, and noticed that along with a couple of my own genuine defaults (due to drop off this year!
) there are also a load of other defaults, all of which seem to be at a former address and for accounts opened and defaulted since I left the address...somebody has obviously had great fun borrowing and spending money in my name.
How do I best tackle this? Do I need to contact all of the creditors listed directly, or speak to the CRA, or do something else altogether?
It's not a massive sum of money, but is spread across some 6 accounts and therefore given me 6 additional defaults which are not correct.
Cheers,

You need to contact the banks individually. Since the accounts actually do exist and the information provided on the credit report is probably accurate (to the banks knowledge). You just need to get them taken out of your name. It might not be easy, the banks may assume you are trying to pull a fast one.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Cheers,
Speak to the lenders directly.
Then wait to see what they say. You can report it to the Police but technically you're not the victim.0 -
you go to the police and make a complaint about fraud, that's what it is.
provide them with details about the accounts and when you left the property.
without going to the police neither the lender nor the credit agencies will entertain removing the defaults0 -
The lenders won't do anything without a fraud crime reference number as a minimum,0

This happened to me with a catalogue account when I moved house. I contacted the catalogue company and they investigated, and it involved the police visiting the tenant at my old address and getting it confirmed that it was fraud. I think if you let the credit card companies know they will have a dept to deal with this and they will probably involve the police.0
