"Ignore" advice

I came on here a couple of months ago looking for help with a PCN which, thanks to all the support and advice I received is resolved (in my favour, of course!).
I hadn't realised until then, the can of worms that is these private parking companies. I've kept looking at this forum and kept up to date with all that is going on.
Now you must excuse me if, as somewhat of a newbie, I'm talking out of place - but is there not a way that the original advice telling posters to "ignore a PCN" could be removed or revised?
A lot of you regulars on here are very knowledgeable about all this parking malarky, and it is easy to forget that for some people, not only may it be the first time they've received a PCN, but also the first time they've ventured onto a forum like this. It can be quite daunting and confusing to try and process all the information in the stickies, and some people will only see "ignore" - which they do - and then find themselves in the proverbial.
Just a thought, don't know if it is even possible to rectify the "ignore" posts, but I'm trying to see both sides - the newbie who is worried and confused, and those who could run a tank through the parking companies.

IGNORE is the CORRECT advice, but for scotland and Northern Ireland ONLY
its ENGLAND and WALES where APPEAL is the correct advice
the NEWBIES sticky thread tells you all this
if you wish to contact the MSE admin team with your concerns then maybe they will change their advice, but forum regulars cannot do this, which is why we point everybody at the NEWBIES sticky thread as regards private parking invoices0 -
It was also the correct advice prior to October 2012. I think with everything, if you are trying to research it online it is worth bearing in mind that the law, both statute and case can change/evolve over time, so always look for the most recent advice.0

Some other forums still give out the ignore advice. Sadly the result is default judgements and ccj's for people.0

The NEWBIES FAQ sticky is designed to help newbies through a 'complicated' scenario. If you're experienced in all things PPC/PCN then it's far less 'complicated', but to get there it needs lots of work, especially reading.
It is really impossible to post bespoke advice to every 'rabbit in the headlights' newbie - especially those who seem reluctant to accept (real) expert advice and query the ins and outs of the elephant's backside with every piece of advice given.
There really are no more than 10 - 12 regulars, who put in tens upon tens of hours each week, directing newbies to expertly written stickies, but contributing, when needed, more substantial advice to the more complex issues that need greater than generic advice.
Many newbies expect, with a less than detailed account of things, that someone here will do most of the donkey work for them.
Soreeee - but not likely to happen. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ignore is generally the incorrect answer to any of these fake tickets.
That said there are circumstances like being in Scotland or indeed in some instances after the initial appeal has failed and the PPC is a member of the IPC ( G24 springs to mind )."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
I think what the OP is asking is whether the old advice - that is still very accessible here - can be removed or revised in order to save those who are naturally looking for a quick fix falling foul of a default judgment.
The simple answer is, sadly, no. This has been discussed several times in the last couple of years but we are where we are. The whole purpose of any forum is that it builds up a database of its users experience and keeps it available. As this board forms only a relatively small section of a far larger whole archiving isn't an option.
If things suddenly change, like they did on 1 October 2012, we are effectively obliged to live with the consequences and are, therefore, stuck with the outdated information even though it is supposedly slowly disappearing into the background. Would that we could lose the old cases as it would make our lives very much easier and the more so for those poor souls who are caught out with a CCJ.
Hope that helps. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Thanks HO87 - got it in one!
Understand what you are saying - and yes again - I'm more than certain that some people will just read the ignore posts and do exactly that, regardless of where they live or which company is involved.
But thanks for all you replies, I'm even wiser now than I was before and still more than happy that I came on here to sort out my own PCN from PE. Cancelled and confirmed. :T0 -
'Ignore' becomes the 'grab-it-quick' option (regardless of how old the advice is) for those who want to put their head under their pillow in case the bogeyman comes into their bedroom!
Would anyone seriously read a political forum dated 5 years ago in order to determine who the Prime Minister is today. (Gordon Brown - ah, right, got it.)!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
