Hiya
It seems that the thought is always at the back of my mind. I'm not going to make any decisions until I am settled and have a clear understanding of our new budget. I run the business and worked full time for about 3 years before I decided to give up the full time job and I think if I made the decision to go back to work full time, I would probably close the business completely and sell off the assets. I couldn't run the two again like before... It nearly killed me!! I am really hoping things will just fall back into place and I will fall in love with the work again with less pressure to bring in the money every month but that would be my perfect world. I need to think realistically.0 -
Late posting today..... Feeling absolutely rubbish!
A 3:30am start this morning. I woke up thinking about work so thought there was no point even trying to get back to sleep so went down to my office and started working!! The rest of them got up at 8:30 (so the hour difference didn't seem to effect them) and off we went down the M4 to meet my mum and dad. I am now completely exhausted, headache and just feeling poorly...
Home now and chilling out for 30 minutes before I get back to work. Spent FAR TOO much yesterday getting the quilts and everything we needed for the caravan so that is not helping my mood and then another £30 today for fuel to get to my mum and dad...Don't know how we will manage now for the rest of the week... Will have to get a little creative this week to get our budget back on track.
I feel like crawling under a rock and staying there today. Not a great day

Good morning...
Feeling a lot better today after a better night sleep... It seems the clocks going forward has helped me as I get up an hour later now. Hopefully my body clock can go back to normal.
Am a bit more cheerful today. Have had a few last minute bookings with high value so I can squirrel some money away now this month for the rainier days.
We still have our blocked sink so need to get to the plumbers today and get it sorted once and for all.... It's driving me nuts!
Busy week this week to make sure I get finished ready to go away on Friday. Hopeully a NSD today!0 -
Good morning all
Today is a good day here in the Roders house hold as my default has now been removed from my credit file so my file is now completely clear. Hopefully we can try for better rates now for our mortgage. It could save us £150 a month!! That's quite a big difference!
So I paid myself yesterday and managed to put £250 away for the Credit Card. This Friday is also the last Friday that hubby gets paid until the 30th April so am dreading April without any money whilst we change over from weekly to monthly pay
So hopefully we will have some good news about the mortgage today. Got SOOOO much work to catch up on before going away so I have a few hard days ahead of me before I can actually relax.
Have a good day all :j0 -
Great news about the default :j Everything is sounding positive, glad you got those bookings that you needed to get everything back on track

Every month I stock up on pasta, passata, rice & spuds. If we're having a poor week I just get creative with one of those ingredients and make dinner from store cupboard. It has saved us from starving more than once
Usually in the last few days before pay day! If you don't eat any of the above perhaps think about stocking up on something with a long shelf life that you do eat and although you might have enough of eating it after a while (my dh is the first to complain) it means you are eating and you haven't had to put any money on a CC

Good morning and thank you debtfreewannabe321 for taking the time to reply

Since I found out he was switching to monthly pay, I have been making double portions of everything and freezing them so we have have food to live on and I have been budgeting carefully to make sure we are covered for the 3 weeks. We should be ok but it's still a worry. I can't wait for him to switch over to monthly pay so we are just going to have to manage.
Yesterday was a quiet day. I'm waiting to hear from my broker now as he has been looking for better mortgage rates for me for our move. Hopefully hear something today. I have been crazy busy making sure work is finished before I go away on Friday but I am very worried as I have NO work to come back to. I'm frantically trying to drum up business but nothing as yet. I'm trying not to worry though JUST YET
Another long day today, post it all tomorrow and I am done for a week.
Hope you all have a good day :beer:0 -
Good morning....
I can't believe I couldn't even find the time to get on here yesterday. I was SOOO busy packing parcels ready to get out before going away that I didn't even have time for lunch!
21 parcels posted and £150 poorer but I suppose it had to be done.
I had some AMAZING news on Wednesday after speaking to my mortgage broker. It was certainly worth pursuing the default removal as we have now been accepted for a mortgage with NatWest which is £214.00 a month CHEAPER!! We are absolutely over the moon. That saving is huge for us and makes it cheaper than what we are paying now:
Current: 2 bed terrace - £720.00 a month (£171,000 INTEREST ONLY )
New: 4 bed detached - £636.00 a month (£154,000 REPAYMENT)
I just want to move now. We know for sure now that we have made the right decision.
We are just getting packed ready to get on the road for a week away and I am really looking forward to having a break. Trying not to think about work and whether I will get money in this month or not. Really need to keep my accounts squeaky clean now whilst the mortgage goes through so can't afford to miss payments etc
I have all of our food ready to go so we can keep spending to a minimum and have used our weekly food shop budget to get a Tesco shop in to take with us so apart from a few trips out and maybe one night out, we shouldn't have to spend much
Have a lovely Easter everyone and I'll catch up with you all when I return :beer:0
