Another good morning from me although another 4am wake up. WHEN will I get a good nights sleep?
I hope you are all well?
Not much to report from yesterday. My SA302 forms came from HMRC so got them off to the mortgage broker ready to get my application in.
I'm trying to hold out as long as I can so the default can be removed from my file but don't know how much longer I can wait as my buyers and sellers are waiting now.
Unfortunately not an NSD for me yesterday and had to dip into the emergency fund again. Hubby will be paid tomorrow though so I am determined not to spend a penny today!
The end of the month is looming and whereas most people rejoice that payday is nearly upon us, it's completely the opposite for me. I've had all the money in that I am going to have in now this month and will be able to pay myself and all of the bills this month which is great news but then the panic starts all over again wondering what next month will bring. Will I get orders or won't I and my anxiety will kick in AGAIN.
Maybe it is best if I just go back to work but I just don't seem to work well in that environment...0 -

Good morning Beanie514 and everyone else that is sticking with me
We have only lived in Hampshire for 11 years. We are from the valleys originally (both of us) and it's where we belong
Hubby's pay day today so it's time to juggle the budget for another week. Another £100 towards that CC and £50 into savings. Tesco delivery due today and I came well within budget so ended up getting my son a big Easter egg and little eggs to do the Easter Egg hunt next weekend.
We are going away in our caravan for a week next Friday. I LOVE being able to get away for almost next to nothing. I've managed to freeze a lot of recipes so we take all of our food with us except for one cheeky meal out and the rest of the week will be spent walking, beach and a lot of free days out.
Plans for today:- Pack an order ready for shipping to Australia
- Strip the beds for lovely new fresh ones
- Washing on and hopefully get it on the line as it seems a nice day
- Clean the house ready for the weekend
- Lot's and lot's of work so that it's up to date before I go away next Friday
- And ofcourse the weekly budget
- Check Credit File to see if the default has been removed
Hope everyone has a great day.0 -
Ah, The Valleys!! I spent 3 wonderful years at Uni in Pontypridd!
Just wondering if you could create an 'emergency fund' for your income... so that it was there to fall back on if you had a quieter month. Or something similar to lessen your anxiety!?start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Hi Rodgers, good luck with the house selling/buying. I hope it all comes off smoothly for you and I think the move might be good
I would reassess your situation when you've paid off the debt as whether or not going back to work is the best solution. Is it an option to go back to work part time? Perhaps then you could have the best of both worlds? Emergency Fund goal - £1000/2000
Mortgage OP goal 2026 - £800/£4500

Hiya Natsplatnat, thanks for replying... I went to Ponty uni too.... FAB memories :j That was back in 2003 though. Yes, that's exactly what we do. Any "spare" income from my business goes straight into an emergency fund ready for the tougher months (I work in the wedding industry). Usually, at this time of year, it can be £1000 - £1500 a month but the problem is is that this year it's dead (not just for me, but for fellow suppliers) which is unusual. I have JUST scraped through this month to pay all of our bills so nothing is going towards our emergency find at the moment which is VERY worrying.
Thanks for your reply debtfreewannabe321. Yes, I have already set up a budget based on our new outgoings when we move and they are certainly looking a lot healthier which will take some pressure off. I think my issue is that I have fallen out of love with my business at the moment as the stress and worry is taken all of the enjoyment out of it. I think once I am not having to cover so many bills a month, I will fall back in love with it but I suppose time will tell. I'm not making any decisions until we are there. Hopefully we will move over the summer holidays so I will have the holidays home with my boy before deciding anything.
I did manage to put £50 to our emergency/savings fund today too on top of the £100 to the CC from hubby's pay so that's good.
The weekends are always the hardest for us financially especially because we need a new gas bottle for the caravan ready for our holiday so will have to do a bit of clever budgeting for that this weekend.0 -
It's the weekend
Having to wait in this morning for a client to pick her order up and then will be spending the rest of the weekend working. May have to meet my mum and dad tomorrow at a half way point (usually in Bath) as our Rabbit will need to go on holidays while we are away in the caravan. Better than having to go all the way I suppose.
Need to get our quilts and things sorted this weekend to in readiness for our holiday away. Otherwise we will be freezing in the nights.
So I don't think we will have a NSD today or possibly tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great weekend.0 -
Do you not have a neighbour or friend who could pop in on the bunny whilst you're away? Might save a bit of petrol for next time?

Not really. I don't like to bother them and the neighbour that sometimes does it for me,her hubby is in hospital at the moment.0

Hi again Roders, I'm interested to see if you have had any further thoughts about working versus maintaining your business?
Have a lovely holiday, you deserve it.0
