Have I definitely been accepted for a RBS Current Account ?

Quick question....

I have 2 RBS Accounts (1 Current and 1 Savings account), I wanted an additional account to keep everything else separate and for bills etc.

I applied on line using my customer number and password etc for a Select account and was accepted and told I was also eligible for other accounts, Silver Platinum etc but I went for just the select account, I did not want a overdraft limit but choose a cheque book.

I was told I would be sent some paperwork to sign and return.

Does this mean I have definitely been accepted ?, as I have heard of RBS opening and then closing accounts, although I am not sure if it makes a difference with me already holding accounts with them ?.

What do you think ?.

You have been accepted but I think you have to wait a few weeks to be sure they really have accepted you.

As you already hold accounts I would think you should be fine.

As with all current account applications (but especially those applied for online), preliminary credit checks are made to give an accept/decline/refer decision. If you are accepted the account is likely to be opened, but ongoing checks are then made (called stage 2 credit checking) and it is at this stage that they can then decide to close your account.

I would have thought if you were already a customer then you would be fine, but I have heard of something called AVU with RBS so I am not really sure.

I am sure that someone from RBS could advise on this.
