Cost of Rendering

Options
I'm looking to get a builder in to inspect the rendering on our house.

We bought our house a year ago, and we seem to be getting a problem with mould mainly on the left side all, all the down, its worse in the master bedroom at the front of the house.

Now after some investigation I think its either the render that failing or that fact we don't have good ventilation in the house.

So I'm going to contact a few builds to get quotes and see if I can find the cause of the problem.

My question is how much should I be looking to get my 3 bed semi detached rerendered?

Its' currently pebble dashed.

I assume the affected wall is an external wall.?

Is the issue on both ground floor and first floor, or just one.?

Is it just the one wall / face of the property.?

Is the affected wall near a chimney.?

Does the affected room have adequate ventilation.?

    Are the gutters clear.?

If the current render finish is solid, displays no cracks and has not blown (sounds hollow when knocked with your knuckles) then it's likely that it doesn't even need doing.

Price depends on where in the UK you are and what type of finish you want applied, along with what sort of prep work is needed to get it ready to go over. some existing render is so hard is cannot be removed easily without wrecking the brickwork beneath it. In this instance, meshing over the top may be required. This would need to be factored into the cost too.

At a guess, I'd say you could get a standard three bed semi done for between £3k to £5K, depending on finish and required prep.
