Does anyone know when First Direct will consider upgrading your card to the gold one or just increasing the limit? Would it be after like 3 or 6 months?

AFAIK there is a minimum earnings limit on the gold card - or there used to be. I thought it was £20k, but perhaps that's changed. Not sure if they'll consider upgrading from classic to gold without it. Anyone else better positioned to know?0

As far as the credit limit is concerned, it's normally after 6 months or so they say. Any time I've asked for credit increases soon after opening an account the provider has usually said - we'll give you a small one, or no, come back after 6 months and we'll see how you've run your account. You could always phone them and ask. Knowing fd they'll be only too happy to tell you.0
