Does anybody have any experiences with Lendinvest, good or bad, that they can share?
I came across an offer they are currently providing which gives £100 cashback on investment of £5000 or more in the month of March.
Many thanks

My instant reaction: why are they offering 6.65% average net return when people can widely get BTL mortgages for under 5%? Who is borrowing from Lendinvest? People who are too high risk for BTL lenders? It's probably ok to invest with them if you have a very big appetite for risk and can afford to lose your money.

Also, a specialist P2P forum might get better responses.0 -
If anyone has a lendinvest referral - I would be grateful for it!0

My Lendinvest review:
I like the model - all property backed lending, giving security. 0% bad debt rate. The team are really helpful and responsive over their life messaging thing on their website.
However, the website (as great as it looks), is completely shambolic and impractical. A lot of the basic information your want isn't present. Where there is information it is light on the ground and formatted so badly that you have to scroll pages and pages (i.e. each loan (name, value, interest, L:V) takes up about 1/4 of an entire page.
For this reason alone I have withheld additional investment with them in the 10's of thousands and may well withdraw all investment.0 -
I have been using LendInvest since early May (about 4 months) and I quite like it. It's a well-established business and based only on bricks-and-mortar investments so should be fairly low risk compared to, say, investing in businesses or in stocks and shares. The staff are responsive to queries and helpful. The web site is easy to use and quite informative. So far I've invested in 17 tranches and all of them are paying back on schedule.
I have noticed that the interest rates available on new lending have dropped dramatically in the last few weeks from about 6-8% to only 4-5.5% and I don't know why - maybe just market conditions.
Hope that helps.0 -

Also bricks and mortar have been known to crumble, or become unsaleable or otherwise become near worthless - or even become an expensive liability to their owners.Eco Miser

I've been using lendinvest for over a year now, pro's - they pay interest monthly and withdrawals on repaid loans are quick and easy. cons, very little control, its fire and forget and hope for the best, difficult to assess risk and loans are often repaid early or sometimes late. I only invest money I don't need and wouldn't cause serious issues if I lost it, for that reason the most I have loaned out at any time is 8K with a max of £500 on anyone loan. Not had a bad debt yet and returns have been high.I need a better signature0
