Letting Agents not keeping to agreement

We've been in our rented apartment for nearly a month now and there is still furniture here that should have been removed. Our signed tenancy agreement states it was to be removed before we moved in.

I've contacted the agents multiple times and basically they're being super cheap, trying to get charities to collect the furniture than actually have it properly removed.

Even had the owner of the letting agent call me and tell me how they're not going to make money on the property because of all these costs to removing furniture and how they have to pay staff etc.

So im fed up now, what can i do? Can i charge them a daily rate for storage to try and get them into gear? What about contacting the property ombudsman?

As it's written into the contract and assuming you have valid proof you've given them ample opportunity to remove the furniture, if it was me, I'd pay a company to remove it myself and send the letting agency a copy of the invoice with an accompanying letter, giving them 14 days to reimburse you, noting that if they fail to do so, you will we filing a small claim's court case for the amount of invoice.

I would be expecting an S21 notice at the end of you fixed term though, if you go down this road.

Also, are the letting agents also the landlords, if not, it's the landlord you should be chasing for this.

Tell the LA owner you will be making a formal complaint to the Agents redress scheme if not removed by X date. Agents must be a member of a redress scheme and any complaint costs them money so it should focus the mind a bit more.

If they need to recover removal costs that should be between them and their employer (the Landlord).

Who is named as landlord on tenancy agreement?? Unlikely to be letting agent...

It is your landlord you have a contract with, not agent: Yes I know agent did all paperwork:

Write (yes, WRITE! - keep copy) landlord, copy agent, a letter instructing removal as agreed of items
