Is myhermes fully tracked?

Hi all,
Basically to cut a long story short I bought an item on depop and paid by bank transfer at the start of last week. By Monday it still hadn't arrived, firstly the seller told me it had been posted, I asked to see proof of postage then suddenly her post office was actually closed so I was told it would be posted on Tuesday. Yesterday I asked for proof of postage & was shown a very obscured screenshot with my address using myhermes delivery. I asked for a tracking number and the seller claims there isn't one and it would have been £1 extra for that (I understand it's £1 for a signature) but I always understood that myhermes was £2.78 tracked for a parcel under 1kg and value under £50?
Would there be a tracking number as I haven't used myhermes before but it tried to look on their website & couldn't see. Secondly can I do a chargeback with my bank if I don't receive the item as I'm very suspicious?
Thank you

I would say you are looking at a likely scam.0

I think so too but I gave the benefit of the doubt, it's the fact the seller is so defensive and treating me as a fool, I don't see that it's so much to ask for proof of postage being that they have 1 feedback! I see now it was foolish to pay by bank transfer but need to know what to do next0

I often use Hermes and always get a parcel number whether signature is required or not. There should definitely be a way of checking the status of the parcel online with this number.
I have sent 45 out this year, I can track 41 as being delivered, the other 4 are with courier, or awaiting collection - but I assume they have all arrived as have not heard back from the customers...0 -
Thank you for your reply, that was what I thought, is it possible todo a chargeback if I didn't use a credit card?0

There is no way of getting any money back from a bank transfer, it is completely unsafe for a buyer unfortunately.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Wait for the parcel to come.
Most people are slackers rather than crooks."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I know, how long is reasonable to wait though? I don't understand why they wouldn't give me the parcel number or at least assist, that's what I find suspect0

Hermes are not the most rapid, 3-4 days, so if i went on Tuesday and is not there by Monday, then they've had you over.
Can you complain to depop if you get stiffed?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I'm probably a bit paranoid but I don't share Dave's optimism on this and still think you've been scammed. Bank transfer, change of delivery method- no tracking details given- that just screams scam. Why didn't you use paypal?Brooker_Dave wrote: »Hermes are not the most rapid, 3-4 days, so if i went on Tuesday and is not there by Monday, then they've had you over.

Depop have very little info unless you sign up- however they only payment method they mention at all is paypal . I wouldn't expect any site at all to offer any support for non merchant type transactions- I know you don't like paypal but that's why most of us do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
