PRAISE for W.B.Furniture in Lancashire and a nice surprise!

I got a nice little surprise the other week and thought I'd share!
So, background. I bought a new sofa from this company W.B. Furniture a couple of weeks ago - I found their website and thought the prices looked okay if the quality was what they said it was. I'm hoping to move house with this sofa in three or four years time so I need it to last-
yes I know, such a cheapskate! Anyway.
I went to try it out in person, as they were only up the road from me in Clitheroe. I was expecting a grubby warehouse but instead there was quite a big shop. They had a lot of different sofas, some dining tables and chairs, cabinets, and loads of stuff like cushions and pictures etc. I think it was about half modern/designer type stuff, and half more serious stuff for older people like g plan, that kind of thing. More than I was expecting from looking at their site, anyway.
Found the sofa I was looking for and it was fine, so I asked about their sale as they had some signs up outside, and they told me that they were a "bit different" from other furniture shops and invited me to make them an offer on the sofa, haggle a bit and together we could negotiate a cheaper price. It reminded me a bit of buying on the local market, and when I said that the lady I was talking to laughed and said that's where they got started years ago! I made an offer (£500 on a £1099 sofa, I wasn't really serious), we haggled a bit and I agreed to pay £750, which wasn't bad considering I was going to pay £1099.
I asked about delivery costs, warranties, what if it doesn't go through my door, can I return it etc. I read these forums a lot, can you tell?:rotfl: It turned out I could get it delivered for free the next day, there's a 5 year warranty, and if it won't fit they'll take it back and give me a full refund. Everything went fine. The sofa is great, it's the same one I saw in the shop, and the delivery guy turned up on time and managed to get it into my room without any trouble. The warranty certificate arrived from the warranty company a few days ago, and I've just bought a rug from them that was listed for £100 on their website - but I only paid £50, so I'm happy.
They had some little bits and pieces near the counter, including a big basket of teddies which I was admiring. I think I must have said something about one of them being cute, a little skunk with sunglasses - anyway it must have made an impression because when my sofa arrived this little guy was sitting on it!
