Hi,
Neighbour noticed a dead fox in my front garden the other day. Council wanted £70 to collect it. I can't afford that so I got my shovel and just put it on main road. Will phone them tomorrow to get them to collect it.

If you leave it on the road the local dogs and cats will be attracted to it and depending on what the fox died of may cause problems.
I would put in in a plastic bag and leave it in the non recycling refuse.0 -

No chance as it was already smelling so it would have mad a stench if I put it my non-recycling bin; especially as it is not be collected until next week. I was not going to touch it to put it in a plastic bag.
With regards cats and dogs, I have put it on a main road so they should be okay (for dogs, the only way they can get to it is if they are let off their leads by their owners and for cats, I suggest the noise of the traffic, which is almost constant, will put them off).
I have contacted the council already so it is now up to them.0 -
Sounds like fly(food) tipping to me.
Why didn't you try Freecycle? Gets rid of all sorts of rubbish. There must be a taxidermist or roadkill cuisine fanatic in your neck of the woods.
But, dumping it on a highway, not a good idea.0 -
agree with Daffyduck.. you are now fly tipping.. there is nothing wrong with putting the fox in a black bag and taking it to the tip, or even burying it in your garden somewhere..Work to live= not live to work0

I'd have shovelled it out there in the first instance - wouldn't have occurred to me that the Council might be interested/do something about it.0

Maybe you try and raffle it. 500 tickets at £1each.
If the winner complains 'cos it's dead, give him his money back.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I'd go mental if one of my neighbours put a dead animal in the road.
It's easy enough to bag it up without touching it. Bung that bag in a box and take it to the tip.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. It is nowhere near any neighbour. It is on a main road, which is over 40 yards from the nearest neighbour.0 -
