Hi all, put an offer in on a house almost 4 weeks ago, it was accepted! Yippie my first house, anyway had already agreed a mortgae with HSBC (my bank) in priciple. Sent off the forms and they have had them for 23 days! They initially told me a decision would be in 7- 10 days and then 4 weeks fom then would have the money if all is well. How can I hurry this along? Have already phoned 3 times, on last time (thu) was told that it hadn't even been looked at! Am really hacked off- this is suppost to be the easy bit! Am worried that the sellers (who were looking for a quick sale) are going to think that something's gone wrong.
Any ideas much appreciated. :money:

Keep calling them & ask for the name of the person you are talking to, tell them you will call back in a couple of days to see how things are progressing, You just have to keep contacting them. My experience with mortgages is it should take between 6 & 8 weeks for the mortgage company to release the funds (but you should be in constant contact with them to see how things are progressing), have you made HSBC aware of the completion date ?0
