A parking ticket from care parking on metro link car park

Options
Hi everyone,
As the title stated, I recieved a parking ticket from care parking while parked on a metro link car park in Eccles.

I was traveling by tram on the day(still have the tram ticket),parked outside of marked bays due to no parking bay available at the time, the car was parked on the side of drive way,and I made sure I was not obstruct any vehicle ,there was plenty of space for other cars to drive pass. The ticket was stocked to the windscreen when I returned.

On the ticket it says 'obstructive parking' which I don't agree at all.
And then I noticed the sign of parking on the fence which was in very small print says 'A parking charge will be issued when obstructive parking including parking outside of a marked parking bay or any unauthorized use of parking space' which for me is very ambiguous and confusing.

I have read and studied the newbies thread about this matter ,understanding I should wait for the NTK to arrive(I'm the registered keeper),then appeal to PPC then wait for the POPLA code appeal to them.

I know a lot of people won the appeal when parked overnight on the metro link car park,But I'm not sure how much chance for me of wining it , because I've parked outside of marked bay?

Any advice or reassurance will be extremely appreciated, although English is not my first language , but with the help of the expert on here I'm prepared to fight back !!

Many thanks!!

You are correct that you should wait for the NTK then appeal. Assuming the PPC is a BPA member then you appeal and win at PoPLA using the "How to win at POPLA" section of the NEWBIES thread. Appeal as keeper and do not reveal who was driving.

Parked outside a marked bay is irrelevant. You will win on the usual appeal points as per the Template appeal letter in the NEWBIES thread.

Well done on doing all your research before posting. It makes things easier for the regulars when people do that.

Posting a scan of the NTK when you get it with personal data and PCN number removed will help us as will pictures of any signs if you can get them. Upload the images to a web hosting site such as Tinypic or Photobucket then post the link on this thread but change http to hxxp and someone here will change it. (Newbies can't post links.)

  • Big thank you!!
Now my mind is more at ease, I will use the template in 'how to win at POPLA appeal'. And will enclose my copy of metrolink ticket and pictures of the signage .

One thing though, I think the care parking operator has taken some picture of the vehicle while parked there. Because I've checked the images on their website. Will this be used to against my appeal?

Again, any advice is extremely appreciated .

Metrolink car parks are free, so the parking company have made no loss by you not parking according to their made up rules (not parked in a marked bay) so this should be an easy win on No GPEOL.

The NTK should come from Care Parking. Their website says they are BPA members, but the BPA site doesn't mention them. I can't find them on the IPC website either so I'm not sure what is going on.

You can't appeal to PoPLA until you have appealed to the parking company and got a PoPLA code. This assumes they are in the BPA.

Whatever happens, do not contact Care Parking; wait for them to contact you in writing (The NTK.)

Come back to this thread when you get the NTK or if you need more help.

    From their website;-
"Care Parking is a trading name of Anchor Security Services Ltd a company registered in England and Wales. Company Registration No. 2548101 whose registered office is at Seasons House, Lakeside Business Village, St David’s Park, Ewloe, Deeside, CH5 3YE" (BPA Member)

As per Fruitcake. And they are part of the BPA.

An easy win when it reaches POPLA - in the lastest case (17th March) they even bother to submit any evidence to POPLA.

Come back to this thread when you get the NTK or if you need more help.

    Thank you for prompt reply!

From other threads it looks like care parking belongs to anchor security service, and at the back of the ticket it mentioned appeal to care parking first then appeal to POPLA if rejected by care parking.
So I'm sure care parking belongs to BPA.
  • As per Fruitcake. And they are part of the BPA.

Now I'm feeling even more confident, can sleep tonight!

I can't thank you guys enough, honestly, this is the first parking ticket I've ever recieved, with me not being a native English speaker, appealing against a parking ticket sounds so daunting ,I thought I'll have to let those scam people rip me off! Thankfully I did my research before hand my hard earned cash to them.

Will recommend this forums to anybody facing same situation .
  • Further to this parking ticket, it reached second stage now, just got the rejection letter from care parking with the POPLA appeal code.
They just used usual words in their letter, nothing out of ordinary really.
Obviously I will appeal to POPLA , one question, might sound a bit silly, which is the best way? Submit on line or via post?
I'm hoping it will be a success , a bit nurvous to be honest :-/
And I will post the draft appeal letter here when I've done it, seeking opinions from experts here. :D

also use the search and find recent (2015) popla appeals for metrolink and their stations, the same appeals apply to all metrolink parking charges
