Full license because I passed the driving test (theory and practical).

So your a new UK licence holder. Your old one is probably no longer valid.

So your basically in the same category as an 18 year old new driver. Although your age will lower insurance quotes slightly.

This is where a good insurance broker earns their money and talking to real people beats the comparison websites. Find a local broker or two and see what they can do.

So if I rent cars for couple of years the mileage will be 0 (since I don't have a car) and the insurance will be almost the same as now (assuming we are talking a same model same condition etc)? And I am 37 BTW.

get renting out of your head. The biggest issue for you is insurance.

"Renting" is for short term use. weekends, 1 week etc. It's not for long term use as it would be just too expensive.

Lease is for longer term use. But lease are almost always new/newish cars. Never for 8+ year old vehicles.

With your inexperience you should buy a car for £2000 and self insure it (check you can get reasonable insurance before purchasing your car).
