Dealer clearing finance

Hi all
Went and signed up for a new car at VW garage. Dealer said he would clear settlement on my existing finance with Ford (settlement was roughly £6165). Signed paperwork on Tuesday 3rd March and took in settler figure (which was valid until 18th March).
Two weeks later (17th) I contact dealer who advises me payment has gone through via bacs. I check with Ford today and still no sign of it. I am now outside of my settlemt figure date. When I spoke to ford I asked them how much the next one was and its roughly £30 more (luckily I requested another shortly after).
Went back to dealer and asked him to pu difference, he's now saying that it was sent to ford on the 16th and they are holding it up.
I thought bacs took 3 days, but either way I ain't impressed. I know it's only £30 but do I have any comeback, I've just signed up for a car worth 20k :mad:
