Got another heavy mirror to hang..

This one came with two 'J' hooks attached to the back of the frame - equidistant and near the edge.

Not sure how they had it hanging before. I understand having J hooks on the wall, but not screwed into the frame. Any ideas from our resident savvy users?

Eye hooks into the wall to support the mirror?

Depends on the wall, but the eye is up to it

    Wall should be fine.

Going to take some precision measuring and a bit of luck I think to get those hooks into those small holes.

The simpler solution would be to use new hooks.

It's common to put frames on walls by having a hook on the wall and a wire stretched across the back of the frame.

As long as you trust the hooks on the frame, don't see any reason why you couldn't do the opposite (fix a wire to the wall, hang the mirror off it). Measure two horizontally level points on the wall at the correct height, the separation between them a bit smaller than the mirror frame dimension. Drill and fix two screws, and securely fix a suitable wire tightly between the two screws. Then hang the mirror off the wire using the hooks on the mirror.

You can put a wire between the two hooks on the mirror. For anything heavy I use a wire coat hanger, cut open and twisted around itself a few times at each hook (you'll need strong hands, or better pliers though). On the wall, one or two screws put in with wall plugs seems to work. Two screws, some distance apart, is best for anything heavy or very wide. Aside from being stronger, it also makes getting, and keeping the picture level and in the right place a lot easier.

Problem is the thing is wider than a stretched out hanger, 132cm.

You can buy wire by the metre in homebase, Wilkos etc
