Obviously highly depends on where you are.... if you're in London, a quality trademan for £175 a day is a deal.

And what do you think the labour should be.
  • We are north West England. I have no idea on how much but it seems extreme 4 days

    Don't confuse net and gross.
The plasterer is earning nothing like £175 per day
  • £700 for 4 days work? seems pretty reasonable to me.

They've not allocated time to taking the plaster back. No comment on how the rubbish is disposed of.

What kind of space is being plastered?

I wouldn't say it was expensive, especially if they need time to strip it as well.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • They have allocated 2 hours to preping the walls that is taking all the old stuff off it is quite thick too, so yes £175 per day some days I think there will be two of them.
  • I have just had a damp proof course put into my firebreast wall and at the same time, a new opening made for an open fireplace.

The total bill with all materials, labour and VAT was £564 for 2 days work.

I guess £700 sounds fair if they are working for 4 days

Have you shopped around for quotes?

I had 3 quotes: 1 was four times the price of the above, the other was similar to actual quote I went with but he didn't want to do the opening up of fireplace
