Did I say it would prove anything? There is probably nobody who can ever prove whether it was the OP or someone else but having the information about IP will be helpful in understanding what happened. For example, if the same IP has always been used to access the Betfair account, and/or if the IP used is linked to the OP, the OP would be wasting their time trying to get any money back.
What I said was based on the assumption that the OP was telling the truth. If so, I don't see how requesting the IP addresses history from BF can help the OP.

My Betfair account was hacked around 2 or 3 years ago - there should be a thread on it somewhere on the matched betting board.
Fortunately they weren't able to take money from my bank, but used the money already in my account - about £250. It was used on a South American match at about 10 at night. I called Betfair immediately and they suspended the account and "investigated".

They admitted that the bet was completely out of character for my account and that the bet was made from another ISP never used by me before but they washed their hands of it. There are a lot of stories about Betfair fraud as Grumbler has said, but I wouldn't expect much from Betfair - as long as they get their 5% they don't care.

If you log into your Betfair account can you see what the money was used for, and where any winnings were transferred too?

Yeah, I'm a little confused? What happened to the money? What does your Betfair Account Statement look like?

The money was obviously 'lost' to some other 'punter' either on some obscure sports market or in poker. BF can trace this, but firstly they are useless; secondly they can't do anything if it was some temporary account that they failed to check properly and the money was promptly withdrawn from. The only they can do is to admit their failure and pay their own money. Surely they do their best to avoid this.
