It's a company !!!!!!. Not all companies have a Paypal account or would like to open it for making one transfer.

Also, PP fees aren't reasonable, let alone 'far more'.
WU is in the top lines on the comparison websites for UK to USA transfers with 1.465 today's rate for big amounts: https://www.fxcompared.com/money-transfer/UK-USA?amount=10000&bType=1&ref=filter

    PP charge 1.5%+3%: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/cross-border-and-conversion-fees

For some reason WU doesn't show for USA to UK transfers - probably because of some stupid USA regulations.
You don't need a Paypal account to make a payment by Paypal. The OP could email a Paypal invoice to the other company who could then pay it using a card - they do not need to have an account.

Paypal exchange rates are pretty cr4p though - I'll give you that! When we paid by WU it usually worked out cheaper than the supplier adding their Paypal fees to the cost.

I've literally just paid a Chinese supplier in USD via Paypal (no other choice unfortunately) - I didn't have anything in the USD pot so was just subject to an exchange rate of 1.4389!!

Sometimes when I get a cheque on the post, remittance advice will be mentioned, so as the previous poster said, remit means you so your name and email.

People moan about PPs rates, I see why, but really you are paying for the convenience. UK banking system is stuck in the dark ages when it comes to foreign transactions, I am by far very happy to get a worse rate for the ease of use.

Wanting great rates and ease of use is a pipe dream right now until the industry here wakes up!

Cut out the UK banks altogether - it's just as easy to open a currency account with a suitable FX company AND achieve far better exchange rates than Paypal (and the banks)!

We currently have our EURO income from Amazon paid in to a EURO account with Currencies Direct and I'm just waiting for them to launch the USD version. Sadly though, Paypal will not allow us to transfer our currency balances out without converting them to GBP first. Paypal really have us hook, line and sinker when it comes to currency exchange!

It's asking for my bank details with the "find a bank" search. I type in Natwest and it tells me nothing came up, even though the tab I selected for search was in the UK field. They are also asking for things like "routing code" and "swift code/address" Type of bank - checking/savings/GL ? IBAN ? bank routing code ?

    Basically it's like herding cats.

You can ask Natwest for the Swift code and IBAN and the routing number should be the sort code. A checking account is the American name for a current account. Not sure what GL refers to.

How many times does it have to be repeated that it's the company that pays to the OP, not vice versa?
