Best Credit / Debit card to use in Iceland

My Daughter is going to Iceland to study for a year. Can anybody advise what the best credit/debit card to use. She is a student and does not have a job. I am quite happy for her to be a named cardholder on my account.

We had thought about the pre-loaded cards however they seem to be currency specific. It is the Icelandic Kroner that is the currency.

I am looking for a card that I can load from the UK by Direct Debit or similar

In similar circumstances, my kids opened Metrobank accounts which came with debit cards (but only in London and SE).

They charge no fees for purchases/ATM withdrawals in Europe (including Iceland).

They open accounts and print cards immediately in-branch - so she can even go in the day before she flies, to open the account.

They say their mobile app lets you block/unblock your card instantly (without a phone call) - if you mislay it.

(It's a normal bank account, so you can transfer/pay into it in all the usual ways.)

Get yourself Halifax Clarity card and make your daughter an extra cardholder.
