Hi All
Ziggy I did wonder why you hadnt posted this week. Sorry to hear its all a bit much. Is your OH fairly employable if he does get made redundant? My husband was the month we started the business, which was hideous, but in the end turned out really well as he got a £14,000 pay off & a job within a month. But the fear is so awful isnt it. Sorry to hear your mum sounds very wobbly as well...life can be so hard cant it.
Foxgloves - Hope your MOT was ok? Well, not yours personally but the cars
Dawn - That is enlightening about Ocado, I would never have thought they would be cheap. How is your little one now?
Carrie - Thank you. And I am sorry to hear about your OH, how can they leave someone needing painkillers for a week??
FVD -You'll get back on the horse though wont you. I have faith. And it sounds like both your mum & MIL have been on the recieving end of your spree in any case so nice not bad FVD.
JoJo - I've managed to avoid the takeout temptation this week goodness knows how. Hope you enjoy yours.
Waves to everyone else.
Another good day in the business. Started off a bit quiet but seemed to be lots of new faces today which is a good sign. I managed to get baking done & we have a good turn over happening of older stuff out, fresh stuff on the counter, so Im happy with that. Took enough to make my half payment to EON for £161 today, & the remainder due next Friday.
Was pleased to discover that my business insurance policy is now paid up till renewal in May, so thats a nice surprise as thats £60 a month.
Checked my own banking too, its not pretty. We have a quiet month on the personal finances month coming up. But I dont think we will be able to achieve as much as I'd hoped. But if we can get on top of the spiralling OD & maybe pay off a bit more of the CC than usual I will be pleased. I suppose you cant have it all.
If we have a decent day tommorow I am earmarking the money to pay for one of the Paypal card machines. You have to pay £69 upfront, but then no fees whatsoever, just the charge on the purchases you take via card. And no contract even more appealingly. Having had a 3 year deal with Streamline, & a minmumn of £50 a month to pay them, I find this very appealing.
Just wish I could get over this anxiety of wanting to know what the future holds re the business. End of the day, in less than 2 weeks the daily take has doubled, and I am paying bills, with real money not an OD, so I should be pleased shouldnt I?

Hello again,
Enjoyed reading about everyone's day. Hope everyone feeling low, poorly &/or worried soon start feeling better, or that the worst case scenario doesn't come to pass. Bob- Sounds like a good start. FatvonD - here's hoping tomorrow brings you a little glimpse of the Wagon....we all know that feeling!
Today's efforts:
*Saved energy by keeping downstairs heating off till 5pm , switching iron off for final garment & cooking lentils in the slow cooker as they always take ages anyway & keep boiling over on the hob.
*Made dhal with crispy onions, garlic & chillies....enough for dinner & to freeze 3 spare portions.
*Did next week's meal plans.
*Wrote shopping list.
*Dealt with burned dish using soda crystals. It looked past earthly help but came out fine.
*Watered baby chilli plants.
*Did some surveys.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Still doing 'Use it up' - currently a cleanser which I cut open to find a week's worth of product & an eyeliner which goes on fab, then appears to turn into uncomfortable sticky black glue.
*Car passed its MOT, & as there was £5 off for booking online, the fee was only £30.
*Checked online banking to see how my March budget is going. Eh? What? Very surprised to see quite a lot more money in current account than I was expecting. Deducted expenses still to come, still a big discrepancy. Basically, I appear to have around £250 than expected. Fetched coffee. Went thru entire budget with calculator. Absolutely CANNOT find the error. It's certainly been a month of swapping different funds around the various 'pots' but I always make a note of such things to keep the accounting straight so I am completely baffled. I know it's better than being £250 lower than expected, but I'm worrying now that I've missed something. Will check OLB every day now till payday, in case something rears its head. I have honestly checked every sum!
*Some leisure time now with my new knitting & a bit of TV.

Hubby was made redundant 5 years ago (he made surgical instruments and had been there from being 15), he got a job through an agency and was taken on (he now makes surgical implants - knees/hips/shoulders), he doesn't like the job but goes everyday
Mum - some days she is so on the ball and other days not so, some days I can have in excess of 15 calls
You are doing a fantastic job, love hearing about the shop and your plans - you should be immensely proud :T*Still doing 'Use it up' - currently a cleanser which I cut open to find a week's worth of product & an eyeliner which goes on fab, then appears to turn into uncomfortable sticky black glue.

Great news on the MOT and great news on the extra funds - let's hope it continues to be in your favour.
use it up - it's amazing how much is left in the bottom of tubes isn't it.

Hi Ziggy,
Yes, I always cut tubes & plastic bottles open now.
My latest knitting project is a lovely informal wrap/cardi in a lacy but quite chunky leaf pattern. It's knitted on circular needles, starting at one of the cuffs. It's a charcoal sort of v dark grey colour. It's quite a nice pattern to knit......as long as cat keeps his naughty paws out of my yarn basket. Grrrr! Wow Ziggy I've literally never heard of that job before. How unusual! 15 calls a day, that is a lot. Poor mum.
Thanks so much for your kind words, it is nice to feel people are hopeful for you.
Foxgloves - Glad to hear about your MOT. That's a weight off your mind. But how nice to have an extra £250! It's not a council tax break month or something like that is it?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
