When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and canceling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:money:

            GOOD MORNING CAMPERS!!
Am planning a money saving day. It's also Car MOT day, so am hoping today's efforts won't be wiped out with a big smelly bill.

            Morning all
I was babysitting all day yesterday, so nothing got done Baby is nearly better though, and we had a hilarious time Baby is nearly better though, and we had a hilarious time
Must make up for it today. So, my list:
 Check banks
Washing, and on the line it goes when it is done
Not a NSD as my shopping will be delivered in a minute. On the positive side, there were loads of offers, so I got a lot for my money (I don't know why people think that Ocado are expensive, as they are cheaper than Lidl (where I also shop) for some things ) I get a delivery every couple of weeks, and pop to Lidl, or occasionally Sainsburys, in between times for top ups / some specific things. ) I get a delivery every couple of weeks, and pop to Lidl, or occasionally Sainsburys, in between times for top ups / some specific things.
Pop to my sales unit, and to the local toy shop while I am out, as it is GD2's 8th birthday next week
 All HM meals as usual
Heating on only in bathroom and airing cupboard, on timer, though if/when it gets chilly later I will light the wood burner.
Do a bit in the garden, hopefully. I need to repot a bay tree and redo my strawberry hanging baskets
Make a cake - the tin is empty
Housework if time  Must at least do some
Right, better get on. Have a nice day everyone 0 0

OH has his first physio app today so I'm hoping that they can give him something better for his pain and diagnose him properly. I hope they will be able to fix him eventually! On this plus side, the problem makes it hard for him to sit down, which has made him more active and reduced out spends on eating out as he can't sit and enjoy it! He's also working lots of evenings which has also reduced spends. Account looking relatively healthy for this far into the month.
Poor OH. They think it will take some fixing. He has to have a neuropathic painkiller that is also an anti-depressant (may be useful though for the ptsd??). Unfortunately he has to wait a week before his phone consultation for the painkiller!
Small list again I think- B/L/D from stores
- Charge phone in work
- OH has a lesson to teach today so will be passing me back some of the money he owes me
- Check online banking and reconcile spreadsheet
- Overtime
- Little bit of housework from rota
- Checked ebay items. No bids but 1 watcher. Weirdly, I'm not interested in money for this item. It has sentimental value so I want to make sure it goes to a good home!
- OH off out tonight so I'm going to chill out at home

 Have a good one all

Chasing up my Quidco cashbacks today. Both the ones I had for Asda suddenly and mysteriously dropped off my list whilst I was waiting for Asda to confirm them. I've now had to raise claims on them both which is rather annoying.Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

Not even sure why I'm posting today as I've just bought a Pandora bracelet for my mum's 80th birthday (in a couple of months.) My only excuse is that I've had it on my mind to get one for both the mums for a while now so we never have to think too much about Christmas and birthday presents ever again! I have however managed to locate the perfect picture to have a print made for DH's mum (a place she always talks about from her childhood) which cost me nothing and she will appreciate the thought (unlike my mum who is far more materialistic.)
I'm going to have to buy a sandwich for lunch today too.
And I'm going out tonight but it's one of DH's gigs and I've offered to do the door so at least I won't have to pay to get in :rotfl:
